Information for:
September is National Suicide Prevention Month — a time for communities to come together, break stigma, and share resources. In recent years, the number of children aged 0-17 in Georgia who visited emergency rooms for reasons related to suicide more than doubled. Additionally, more than 73,000 Georgia students in grades 6-12 reported having seriously considered suicide within the past year. Overall, suicide remains a leading cause of death in Georgia’s youth under the age of 18. These numbers highlight a growing concern, they also serve as a reminder that every conversation, every act of support, or every moment of listening has the potential to positively impact a young person’s life.
